Lafayette Coney Island – Detroit, MI (Scottman895 Travel Delights)

April 26, 2019

Coney islands are a staple of Detroit cuisine. Lafayette Coney Island along with its rival, American Coney Island, are some of the most famous coney island restaurants in Detroit, Michigan. Recommended by one of my followers, I head into Lafayette Coney Island to try some of their delicious coney island hot dogs made with their signature chili. Lafayette Coney Island is a short walk from Campus Martius Park along Michigan Ave (US 12).

Thumbs up!! I make mine at home with steamed vegan Field Roast frankfurters and steamed whole wheat hot-dog buns! I add vegan chili sauce, mustard, diced sweet onions. DELICIOUS!!

Thank you again for suggesting this video! I really enjoyed the coney dogs. Now I need to check out American Coney Island when I head downtown next time. Thanks for watching!

The real Coney Dawgs started in Flint. The secret to good Dawgs is cutting the onions and letting them set in the refrigerator for a day. Eaglegards….P.S. The Dawgs have to be Koegel hot dogs.

Wow, I never knew that. I’ll have to try them up in Flint sometime. I agree that real coney dogs have to be by Koegel! Thanks for watching!
